Minuteman Award

Highest award presented to a member by the National Society for distinguished service rendered to the SAR on the National level.   Presented during the Annual Congress to no more than six recipients per year.  More information can be found in the SAR Handbook.

Distinguished Service Medal

Highest award that can be awarded by a State Society President during each year of his term of office to a Compatriot for distinguished service rendered to the State Society.  

Patriot Award

Patriot Medal awarded by a State Society for service at the State or Chapter level.  Presented only to individuals and may be received ONLY once.  

Meritorious Service Medal

Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to SAR members who have rendered long, faithful and meritorious service to their chapter, state society, district, or to the National Society. 

Liberty Medal

Presented by the National Society to:

1. Anyone who has received the Florence Kendall Award at or before the Tampa Congress of 1986.

2. Any SAR member who after March 31, 1986, signed as first-line sponsor, the membership application of ten new members. 

Florence Kendall Award

Florence Kendall Award is given annually at the SAR Congress to the top three members who were the first-line sponsor for the largest number of new members during the previous year.

Service to Veterans

This medal will be awarded when a Compatriot has contributed 5,000 Stark points. 

Good Citizenship - Gold

The Gold Good Citizenship Award is presented for OUTSTANDING AND UNUSUAL patriotic achievement and service of NATIONAL IMPORTANCE.  It may be presented only once to any individual.  More information can be found in the SAR Handbook.

Good Citizenship - Silver

For significant community leadership over a long period of time in several organizations.

Good Citizenship - Bronze

For a special effort serving the community or meeting the objectives of the SAR (usually for a specific effort).

War Service Medal

Authorized for those who have served in the armed forces of the United States (or a country that was an ally of the United States or in a United Nations Peace Keeping Force) and fought against a common enemy of the United States in a war or action that has been recognized by a branch of the Armed Forces of the United States and for which a campaign medal and ribbon are authorized.

Medal for Heroism

Presented for acts of bravery.

Color Guard Award

Awarded for service to the Society at the National, District, State Society and Chapter levels.  Recipients may only receive the award once at each level.  

CAR-SAR Medals of Appreciation-Bronze

Presented to a member of the CAR in good standing in recognition of and in appreciation for outstanding services rendered to the SAR. 

CAR-SAR Medals of Appreciation-Silver

Presented to a member of the SAR in good standing in recognition of and in appreciation for outstanding services rendered to CAR.

CAR-SAR Medals of Appreciation-Gold

Presented by the National Society to a member of the SAR in good standing in recognition of and in appreciation for outstanding services rendered to CAR upon recommendation of the CAR-National Society Children of the American Revolution. 

Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award

The Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award acknowledges the service of the recipient to Scouting and is awarded by the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution upon recommendation of a local chapter. 

General William C. Westmoreland Award

For outstanding SAR Veterans Volunteers.

Thomas Jefferson Bond, Jr., Memorial Photographic Award

Presented each year on Recognition Night during the Annual Congress to recognize and reward the Compatriot whose photographic entry is selected as most representative of patriotism.
