The Long Knives Chapter was founded in 2002 and serves Southernmost Illinois. The name Long Knives comes from what Native Americans called George Rogers Clark soldiers when they passed through this area on their way to capture Vincennes.

The chapter presents awards to ROTC students at Southern Illinois University, marks the graves of Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Southern Illinois, and participates in other civic minded and educational activities to promote the history of our area.

The chapter meets at noon on the second Saturday of each month at the Western Sizzlin Steakhouse located at 1808 Bittle Place, Marion IL.  The Sons of the American Revolution is a lineage organization. Those eligible must be 18 years and be able to prove blood descent back to an ancestor who contributed in some way to the cause of American Independence.

If you have an interest in membership, contact Compatriot Jim Wallace muzzldr@hcis.net, or Robert Morefield robertmorefield@yahoo.com for more information.
