Founded in 1992 Collins' business has expanded to include over 80 commercial clients and government agencies doing work in more than 35 states.

We currently have an opening for a full-time Accounting Manager.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary and benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, medical insurance (including prescription), vision, dental and 401(k).

Responsible for overall management of the Accounting Department.

  1. Works with confidential data, which if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect. Maintain strictest confidentiality about all aspects of the company to which you come into contact.
  2. Responsible for the development of policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance.
  3. Difficult accounting work on involved projects and problems.
  4. Researches and oversees compliance of credit arrangements.
  5. Monitors delinquent Accounts Receivable and follows-up as necessary to ensure timely payment.
  6. Prepare monthly financial statements and various detailed analyses.
  7. Reviews and approves accounts payable.
  8. Oversees 401k program to ensure maximum participation contributions and performance.
  9. Prepare Sales and Use Tax returns.
  10. Oversees payroll and associated programs to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  11. Oversees employee vacation and sick time tracking.
  12. Responsible for daily cash management reporting.
  13. Maximizes productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
  14. Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
  15. Formulates procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of documents.
  16. Initiates cost reduction programs.
  17. Maintains contact information and line of communication with insurance providers, retirement program administrators, etc.
  18. Back up Human Resources for the corporate insurance programs to ensure maximum performance.
  19. Oversee office support duties.
  20. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Directly supervises accounting associates in all aspects of accounting including general ledger accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 5 years of accounting experience. Prior experience with the following software tools is required: Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and advanced use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in order to effectively communicate with customers, employees and vendors.

Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex accounting issues.

Required to sit for long periods of time.
