The department of Bio Resources provides health surveillance, preventative disease programs and daily husbandry and care for all laboratory animals at Client Bioresearch Center. In doing so, the organization helps to assure that properly trained scientists perform all animal model-based research and development conducted at Client Bioresearch Center in a humane, regulatory-compliant, scientifically sound and socially acceptable manner. The Bio Resources department provides the scientific support and technical training for research scientists and their groups. The department has primary responsibility for assuring that the Animal Care Program meets the standards for continued accreditation by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and meets the regulations required for compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). The primary goals of the Technician III, in priority order, are to perform husbandry, dosing and sample collection techniques and to train lower level personnel on husbandry policies and procedures.

Cage wash operations
Process cages
Process racks and carts
Disassemble and assemble ventilated caging racks
Autoclaves feed and bedding, instruments, etc.
Afternoon cage wash processing
Other daily and weekly tasks for cage wash
Provides husbandry for animals
Cage changing
Room logs and records
Room cleaning and washing
Room stocking
Provides Technical Skills (Not required but a plus)
Proficient with handling mice & rats
Proficient with PO, IP, SC dose
Proficient with tissue harvest
Proficient with various blood collection techniques
PK assistance
