We are seeking contract worker to run & design experiments from the lab bench to identify and validate new drug targets for dermatological inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis & atopic dermatitis.
Key responsibilities include the ability to design and perform cellular & biochemical assays to probe target biology. Prior experience with cell culture is required. Additional responsibilities include data analysis, interpretation, and communication of experimental results to project team members, as well as working in a strong collaborative atmosphere to achieve project milestones.
Candidates should be familiar with mammalian tissue culture, cell-based assays, and molecular biology techniques (qPCR, western blotting). Experience with RNAi techniques or CRISPR is a plus. Candidates should also be familiar with assay equipment such as plate readers, spectrometers, and various biochemical assay formats (e.g. IP, FRET, ELISA, etc.). Strong skills in data analysis/presentation and attention to detail in experimental design are very important. A background in medium-throughput screening of small molecules or antibodies would be an advantage.
Qualified applicants will have a B.S. or M.S. or equivalent in Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field & experience in quantitative analysis of biological data. 2+ years industry experience is preferred.
Required lab skills:
Cell culture (several years of experience strongly preferred)
Western blotting (several years of experience strongly preferred)
Real time PCR (with an ability to utilize different chemistries and optimize workflows)
Nucleic acid transfection (for gene silencing, knockout, and overexpression studies)
Strong attention to detail.
Good organizational, presentation, and notebooking skills.
Quick learner comfortable working in a high paced collaborative environment.
Experience with multitasking and contributing to multiple independent projects.
