|IT Strategy -|
? Assist with the definition and market the content management and reference data architecture strategy & roadmap.
? Contribute toward creating, maintaining, and marketing the architectural vision and direction for a domain.
? Align domain architecture with enterprise architecture strategy and guidelines.
? Architecture Planning
? Leverage business models and requirements to design aligned information and technology solutions balancing cost, functionality and practicality.
? Collaborate with various business and IT stakeholders to define technical requirements and service levels, integration mechanisms, and solution architectures.
? Develop and document architecture patterns, stacks, models and/or technical specifications.
? Provide direction to internal and external resources during the selection and implementation of business systems.
? Provide business & technical expertise in defining standard work using available industry best practices in the area of specialization.
? Define standards for architecture documentation using modeling tools & methods - leveraging industry best practices
IT Delivery -
? Contribute to success of business systems by providing technical leadership and direction.
? Lead the estimation, analysis, design and implementation of business solutions - for large programs or a number of complex projects and programs.
? Fit architecture to purpose.
? Lead teams in solving complex technical problems.
? Builds DB structure (e.g. Design schemas. Build tables, FKs, PKs on local DBs created by system DBA) that meets the business/application needs
? Provide PDW DB consultant service to data layer developers who are responsible for merging data from multiple sources into a data warehouse. Design and implement physical warehouse, but cleans, standardizes, and scrubs data before loading
? Build queries, stored procedures, etc. that meet business/application needs. Ensure that the application is fully optimized for the database and vice versa
? Provide Application/Project security requirement to System DBA and maintain Application level database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
? Application DB tuning and performance monitoring
? Establish Application/project backup and recovery policies and procedures, and work with system DBA to implement it. Develop archive/purge procedure based on business/application requirement
? Develop Database migration and operational functional procedure
? Setup and maintain Application DB documentation and standards
? Plan DB growth and changes (capacity planning) to fulfill Business requirement
? Work as part of an Application team and provide 7×24 supports when required
? Do Application technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Info Systems, or equivalent required
? 8+ years of SQL DBA experience
? Working knowledge of M/S PDW (Client)
? Individual must have strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism
? Individual MUST understand PDW concepts. 1 year experience with PDW required
? Individuals with prior experience at Microsoft or similar size company preferred
MUST HAVES (Additional Information):
? DBA Parallel Data Background
? Microsoft specific PDW experience
? Microsoft SQL server and SSIS experience
? Experience with at least a Terabit of data
? Must be a team player, have strong communication skills, and a mind set to provide and review performance enhancements
