Must be a US Citizen who must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; a current Department of Defense Secret clearance (or higher) is preferred.

Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); additional proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio preferred.
Specific Professional Experience:
Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to government personnel in the development of general ledger accountant (GLAC) reconciliations, transactional data validation, accounting corrections and reversals, beginning balance analysis, trial balance management, monthly, quarterly and annual close activities and analysis, development of estimation methods and methodologies to support accrual adjustments and other non- routine adjustments to GLACs in support of period close activities.
Experience in performing period-end (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) statement analysis
Experience with corrective action plans (CAPs) documentation and resolution
Experience in providing technical advice and recommendations and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Demonstrated experience as an accountant or consultant responsible for developing, performing and providing technical advice related to financial reporting and auditing in accordance with GAAP and GAAS, Office of Management & Budget (OMB) guidance, the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) and USSG, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) standards, and Government Accountability Office (GAO) Yellow Book.
Working knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), the DoD Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA) and the DoD Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS).
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration or other relevant business related field with a major or concentration in accounting, finance, economics or management information systems accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

Ability to provide authoritative policy interpretations and functional recommendations on accounting issues and provide resolutions that maintain the system integrity and are consistent with generally accepted accounting standards.
Analytical ability to undertake assessments of complex issues relating to accounting theory, policy, and systems design, development, and integration.
Professional and comprehensive knowledge of financial management sufficient to conduct difficult assignments involving interfaces and inter-relationships between and among programs, systems, functions, policies.
Experience of four or more years in one the following but not limited to:
