The client is partnering with our government client who is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator with PostgreSQL and Cloud experience for a contract position at the Social Security Administration for a new web-based application located in Baltimore, MD.
Required experience in providing the database administrator support for this effort. Need to have experience in doing something similar in multiple enterprise data warehouse projects. Strong experience using Agile methodology and/or has current Oracle DBA certification (nice to have.) The DBA shall have proven experience to worked in a high-paced, very technical environment. The DBA needs to be on-site 4-5 days (near Baltimore, MD). Local resources (Washington DC Area) will only be considered for this project since this doesn't allow for travel.
REQUIRED SKILLS (in order of importance)
-At least 7 to 9 years' experience as a DBA
-Proficiency in PostgreSQL is a must in cloud environment
-Experience using PostgreSQL, Oracle Golden Gate, Grid Control, RMAN
-Experience using agile software tools such as Rally, Version One, Jira, TFS, Urban Turtle, or other related products
-Experience using Linux Scripting
-Good communication skills, and problem solving abilities. Experience working in agile environments focused on continuous delivery
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
-Experience with ETL tools like DataStage and/or Informatica (6 to 8 years)
-Understanding of the concepts of Big Data (2 to 3 years)
-Experience with high volume websites that use multi-tier architectures a significant plus (5 - 7 years)
-Experience using ETL tools such as DataStage, Informatica
-Experience using data modeling tools such as Erwin
-Design and configure relational database objects
-Design data distribution and data archiving solutions
-Ensure database security (Performing Oracle DB patching, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities), including availability, backups & disaster recovery (As needed, perform Oracle DB backup and recovery using RMAN, Hot Backup, Data pump, cloning techniques) and database performance (Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues for Oracle databases)
-Plan and implement application and data provisioning
-Produce entity relationship & data flow diagrams, database normalization schemata, logical to physical database maps, and data table parameters.
-Monitoring ASM storage; perform adding, resizing of data files, space management on disk groups, rebalancing of disks, etc.
-Review technical documentation to verify compliance with client requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines
-Experience using Jenkins, Maven
-Experience configuring database network connectivity.
-Assist in manual and automated application code deployments (DDLs and DMLs)
