The client has partnered with a leader in higher education software solutions in search of a Senior Systems / Atlassian Suite / JIRA Administrator for a contract to hire role in Reston, VA.

*Must have strong experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite - Jira and Confluence administration*

They are looking for an Atlassian expert, who can do deployments, upgrades, etc. for specific environments ? has front and back-end Jira (Atlassian suite) experience. They will receive requests, pinging, upgrades, troubleshoot bugs in software, and some project management responsibilities. Day to day is handling ticket requests and customizations of the tool - Agile experience is important as well

-High level Systems Administrator with a focus on developmental teams and tools, including the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), Github, TFS, SVN
-Solid experience with full on administration of Jira and Confluence
-Understanding of troubleshooting and resolving system issues on Windows and Linux operating systems
-Ability to create scripts to automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, Shell Script, or similar
-Ability to translate what the business user needs and why they need it.

-Experience working within AWS environment - troubleshooting, setting up instances, etc.
-Jira environment runs in AWS so knowledge necessary to use and maintain that.
-Ability to independently learn and apply AWS fundamentals with little to no ramp up - troubleshoot, set up instances, etc. (Jira environment runs on AWS and in process of migrating entirely to AWS)
-Technical knowledge of several monitoring and analytics tools such as New Relic, Nagios, Solar Winds, Splunk, and AWS Cloudwatch
-Experience using Ansible

-Assist in the effort to provide secure, stable, and scalable solutions on various Linux distributions
-Design, implementation, configuration, and administration of Linux and Windows operating systems to support various applications
-Support and automate tasks using scripts, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, and other methodologies.
-Monitor and manage infrastructure using Nagios, Solar Winds, Pager Duty, Pingdom, and
-Support, architecture and administration of development tools: Jira, SVN, Git, TFS, and more.
-Create policy and documentation when necessary
-Provide best practices and recommendations
-Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to deal with outages and maintenance windows
-Be part of a team. Share knowledge. Be open, honest, and have a positive attitude
